Start Your Journey on Skis

Our group ski lessons focus on teaching the basics of skiing in a safe, encouraging environment. Perfect for beginners, our instructors use fun activities to help young skiers gain confidence and develop essential techniques like turning, stopping, and riding the rope tow. Whether your child is just starting out or improving their skills, our group lessons foster a love for skiing while building friendships on the slopes.

Little Shredders - Ages 4-6

Meets 1 Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

The purpose of Little Shredders is to introduce your 4 to 6 year old to skiing in a fun and safe environment. The class combines on and off hill activities that demonstrate proper skiing form and promotes muscle memory to reinforce the skills necessary for skiing. For more information about this season’s schedule check out the infographics at the bottom of this page. Your child will participate in activities from off-hill relays, to on hill games like ‘Red Light Green Light’ and ‘Follow the Leader’, to promote a fun experience around skiing. 

Little Shredder Skills 

  • Off-hill games (to promote a fun skiing experience)

  • Basic ski parts

  • Stopping (pizza)

  • Turning (wide ‘S’ turns around cones)

  • Riding Bunny Hill rope tow (assisted by instructor)

Level 1 Ski - Ages 5+

Meets 1Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

Level 1 Skiers are on the snow and learning the fundamentals of skiing in a fun and safe group environment with other beginner skiers their age. In Level 1 Freshies, your child will learn the beginner fundamentals of skiing; ski parts, putting on and taking off skis, stopping, turning, and riding the rope tow independently. Level 1 Ski Skills 

  • Ski Parts

  • Putting on and taking off skis

  • Stopping (pizza)

  • Turning (controlled ‘S’ turns)

  • Riding rope tow (independently)

Level 2 Ski - Ages 5+

Meets 1 Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

Level 2 Ski is meant for your beginner skier who is ready to start learning intermediate ski skills. In Ripper’s Ski, your child will learn in a fun and safe group environment with kids their age. The fundamentals of Mulligan’s Hollow Level 2 ski program include remembering basic ski parts, stopping using ‘hockey’ stop, introductory parallel skiing, and independently getting up from a fall. This class is great for students who have previously taken Level 1 Freshies Ski or can stop, turn, and ride the Bunny Hill rope tow independently. Level 2 Ski Skills 

  • Ski Parts

  • Introductory parallel skiing

  • Stopping using ‘Hockey’ stop

  • Independently recovering from a fall

Snowboard Lessons

Master Snowboarding Basics

For those eager to learn how to snowboard, our group lessons provide the perfect foundation. Designed for beginners, these lessons focus on balance, control, and the fundamentals of snowboarding. Our experienced instructors guide students through the basics while ensuring they have fun and feel supported by their peers. Group snowboard lessons are a great way to learn and grow in a collaborative, engaging atmosphere.

Intro to Freestyle - Ages 8+

Meets 1 Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

Intro to Freestyle is a 6 week beginner freestyle course structured for skies and snowboarders who are ready to learn how to safely hit jumps and boxes. Students work with their designated instructor and learn how to hit jumps or boxes through demonstration and encouragement from their instructors and group members. 

Intro to Freestyle Skills

  • Terrain park safety

  • Hitting a small to medium sized jump

  • Hitting a box

  • Throwing a 180 jump

Level 1 Snowboard - Ages 5+

Meets 1Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

Level 1 Snowboard is an introductory beginner snowboard course meant for kids ages 5 and up. Your child will learn the basic fundamentals of snowboarding in a safe and positive atmosphere with other kids their age. MHSB’s Level 1 Snowboard Fundamentals include being able to list the parts of a snowboard, putting on and taking off snowboard, getting comfortable on a snowboard, sliding on toe and heel edge, stopping on toe and heel edge, introductory turning, and riding Bunny Hill rope tow independently. 

Level 1 Snowboard Skills 

  • Snowboard Parts

  • Putting on & taking off snowboard

  • Sliding & Stopping on toe edge

  • Sliding & Stopping on heel edge

  • Introductory turning and edge transfer principals

  • Riding Bunny Hill rope tow independently

  • Can maneuver independently

Level 2 Snowboard - Ages 5+

Meets 1 Hr a Week for 6 Weeks

Level 2 Snowboard is an intermediate program focused on applying previously learned basic skills so your child can ride with ease and confidence. In Level 2 Snowboard, your child will build off their beginner skills to remember snowboard parts, connect turns, stop independently, ride rope tow independently, and navigate different slope terrain.  This class is great for students who have previously taken ‘Level 1 Snowboard’ or are ready to build off their beginner snowboard skills.

Level 2 Ski Skills 

  • Snowboard Parts

  • Stopping on heel and toe edge with ease

  • Confidently connecting heel and toe edge turns

  • Riding all rope tows independently

  • Navigating different terrain

Rental Equipment

The rental shop, located on the west side of Mulligan’s Hollow Lodge, offers a rental equipment deal for students participating in Little Shredders, Level 1 Ski, Level 2 Ski, Level 1 Snowboard, & Level 2 Snowboard. On the first day of your group lesson, $55 is due to the rental shop for the Group Lesson Rental Equipment Deal. Students should arrive 30 minutes prior to their group lesson start time to allow ample time for the rental equipment process. The Group Lesson Equipment Deal is only to be used for group lessons, if you plan on renting equipment during our general hill hours, you must pay the required fee for that day. Personal equipment is required for students participating in Jr. Race & Freestyle Club, and recommended for students participating in Intro to Freestyle Ski & Snowboard.
